The scrapbook and card designs shown in this section are created by Neta Welever. Examples are available for many of these designs and techniques through attendance at a class or workshop.
The District Play Offs Sometimes the person or action you want to display on your page is a small part of a photo. To get the picture you want, you may need to digitally crop and enlarge the desired section. Even when doing this you can end up with extraneous images with the desired image. You can either clone and erase the unwanted image or you can turn them into a feature. In this case, an arm that was extended into the cropped area. To make it a feature I cut a slit into the area of the hand and slipped in the player's name.
The Hunting Trip I have used Stampin' Up roller and regular stamps to create the embellishments for this page. By cutting the stamped images with a border they stand out from the background. The text is generated on my computer in a font that seemed to suit the scene. The text and the picture were matted using a glue stick and eyelets were used to attach them to the background. Narrow hemp cord was used as a hanger.
Many birthday cards are read and either placed in a collection or (horrors) discarded. To ensure your recipient continues to remember your sentiments, enclose a bookmark. This card is closed with eyelets to form a pouch in which to slip the bookmark. Additional sentiments are at the bottom of the bookmark.
Experiment with Color Mediums Try rubbing your stamp over a multicolored pad before stamping. This will give a natural looking variation in the outline. Pens will give a sharp color. To do more subdued shading use your chalks applied with a Q-tip. This will give a realistic sky. Add vibrant color with matting and accents.
Use Those Scraps The more cards we make the more paper scraps we accumulate. Challenge yourself to use these. Combine several to form a unique mat beneath your artwork. Use the pieces left when using decorative scissors as you would use ribbon or cord.
