Quilt  Gallery

 The quilts shown in this section are designed, pieced and quilted by Neta Welever.   Patterns are available for many of Neta's designs through attendance at a class or workshop.   Free patterns are also available on our Quilt and Scrapbooking Classes page.  The quilts below are unique, and no patterns are offered, although many of the techniques used in these quilts are taught.

 

 

 

Text Box: Quilter's I Spy This quilt is made of hundreds of different 4" traditional blocks integrated with custom designed blocks to build this landscape.   It is a challenge to the experienced quilter to find the blocks.  Some are easy to see.  Others have more subtle color placement which allows them to merge into the background.  This 95" x 70" wall hanging is all pieced.   The 3-D elements of foxgloves and a butterfly are sewn into the seams.  Over 400 hours was put into creating this art quilt.

 

 

 

 

Text Box: Butterflies Love My Garden This quilt is a combination of piecing and appliqué.  The 3-D techniques for the foxgloves and hollyhocks are taught in one of the workshops offered on my classes page.  The buttons are handmade by my daughter, Bonnie Bakken.   

 

 

 

 

Text Box: Trees For All Seasons Five traditional tree blocks were set on point to form the backdrop for this wall hanging.  The trees, appliquéd foliage and other embellishments form a display that is suitable for the whole year

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Text Box: WASIQ Village Quilt This is a memorial quilt for Grace Greene, a former member of Washington State Internet Quilters (WASIQ).  It was partially made from house swap blocks from which the background was removed.  This quilt was juried into the 2004 ANPQ Quiltfest show.
